The Outaouais Collective

The Outaouais Collective was created in April 2007 to encourage the participation of the Outaouais population to the first Quebec Social Forum (QSF), held in August 2007, in Montreal. Mission accomplished since an important delegation from the Ottawa-Outaouais area took part in the QSF, which was a huge success with more than 5,000 participants.

On January 26, 2008, nearly one hundred people from the Ottawa-Outaouais area joined the tens of thousands of people worldwide who took part in the International Day of Action and Mobilization for a better world. The Outaouais Collective organized a half-day of workshops, followed by a torchlight procession and a community dinner.

The Outaouais Collective has now started to organize the first Outaouais Social Forum. This regional forum will take place November 7- 8-9, 2008. As with all social forums, the Outaouais Social Forum will be opened to the diversity and multiplicity of involvements and actions from the different organizations and movements eager to get involved.
